Hi all, just confirming I'm still alive, and, as per, cheekily asking something of you...
So you know I'm always banging on about The Treacle People. I know, it's not Lucien-related, but it's a project started by my late Dad which I'm really passionate about continuing.
Well, the audio drama sequel I've been producing is done, hopefully releasing soon, and to give it the best chance of success I'm trying to boost the OG show on Prime Video as much as I can. What I could really, really do with is some reviews, as we've only got two and it isn't the best look to help encourage new viewers to give it a try.
So I just wanted to ask - is there any chance any of you have 99p and ten minutes going spare? If so, it'd be absolutely amazing if you could possibly help me out by buying and watching episode 1, and leaving a quick review.
Here's the link if you're in the UK.
And here's one if you're in the US.
Thank you so much!
Joseph!

Hi everyone!
Hope you're all well. This is just a quick update to let you know that Lonely Worlds, my latest novella, is now available for FREE through Amazon's Kindle Unlimited subscription service. If you've not heard of that, basically it's a bit like Netflix, only instead of TV shows and movies, it's ebooks!
It's still only £0.99 to download it for keepsies, though. You know, if you'd like to give a hand with my rent.
On the short story front, there's also a new one up! It's called The Storm and Her Captain, it's a bit spooky, and you can read it right away on the stories section.
Until next time!

Evening all!
As usual, it occurs to me that I haven't posted a blog update in a very long time! I really ought to get better at updating this. Anyway, I've gone on something of a foray into Skyrim modding since my last post! For those of you who don't know, these are packages of unofficial DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that add quests, locations, characters and adventures. The best part is that they're free!
I've had the privalege of working with talented modder Mihail Romanov in the development of two of these - Sulfur and Fire and House Dres, both of which can be found on the Other Projects page! They were great fun to work on, and I think games are a really interesting storytelling medium that I'd like to work with more in the future.
In terms of actual stories you can read, I've been quite busy of late with university and work, so haven't been keeping to much of a schedule! If you're desperate to read some words, why not check out the prequel short stories on the Other Projects page? As they're for Skyrim, they technically come under the umbrella of fanfiction, but they stand up quite well as stories in their own right.
Hopefully I'll be able to post again soon!

Hi everyone!
I haven't posted a blog update in a couple of weeks, so I thought I'd bring you up to speed on what's been going on. The biggest news is that Lonely Worlds is out on paperback! It's very, very exciting to have an actual copy in my hands, and if you want one too, you can get one here.
Otherwise, the weekly updates have still been ticking along, with "The Real Me" and "The Thing in the Crater" making their way to the Stories section. They're both short but fun tales that I wrote for a New Year's Eve competition, and I thought you might find them interesting to read. Next week, I'll be uploading Chapter Two of No Ordinary Librarian, which will be replacing Lonely Worlds as a weekly serial. In case you haven't read Chapter One, it's a time-travel story about a group of Librarians who safeguard the universe's natural timeline, and it should be a lot of fun.
Also, I've been exploring the idea of a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure style piece of interactive fiction. Is that something any of you would be interested in? What do you think would be the best platform to make and release it through? Let me know on the Facebook Page!
See you next Wednesday!

Hey folks!
So, the title says it all, really. Lonely Worlds has hit Amazon, where you can download it on Kindle for the price of £0.99, which is as low as Amazon would let me set the price! Don't panic, though - it's still available for free on Wattpad, so I'd be absolutely delighted if you could check it out on either site - and if you could drop me a bit of feedback, either good or bad, I'd really, really appreciate it.
If you'd rather have an actual, physical book to hold, smell and put on your shelf, then hang tight - the paperback version will be along as soon as I've had a chance to look over the proof copy, which I anticipate will be early next week. Much excite!
In other news, I finally have a title for the new novel coming later this year-ish. It's called "The Story Breaker." It's very close to my heart, and I can't wait to share it with you. In fact, I'm so eager that I've included an exclusive sample chapter at the end of the Kindle and paperback versions of Lonely Worlds. I'd simply love to hear your thoughts on it on the Facebook Page.
See you next Wednesday!

Hi everyone!
Hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying the break. This time of year's always busy for me, with four family birthdays (not to mention my girlfriend's!) within the space of two weeks. However, you may have noticed the final chapter of Lonely Worlds came online last Wednesday - that's right, it's finished! I hope you all had fun reading it, and I'm very grateful for all the feedback and the general positive response! Can't wait to release the whole thing in lovely, shiny Kindle and paperback form in the new year!
The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed I've moved Lonely Worlds to the "books" section, as I'm now calling it a novella! So that counts as a book, right? Just a little one? There's also a new addition to the "stories" section - Predator, which was originally planned as a Halloween release, but Lonely Worlds was still running and I figured I'd save it for a busy week. So check it out if you like!
As ever, hit me up on any of the options on the "contact" page if you have anything you'd like to say, be it good, bad, or anything in between.
See you next Wednesday!

Hello again!
Apologies for being a little quiet on the blog front this past month - I've been dragged kicking and screaming into the cold, harsh reality of an Engineering degree, which has certainly clamped down on my free time somewhat.
Nonetheless, work on Lonely Worlds has continued, and will continue at a rate of one chapter per week until we find ourselves at the inevitable end. That's not for a few weeks yet, though, so nobody panic! And the stories will carry on coming after that.
Incidentally, I've started calling Lonely Worlds a novella, and I absolutely plan on releasing it as a downloadable ebook when the story's all wrapped up, so you can own it all nice-and-shiny-like on your Kindle (other e-readers are, of course, available, though aren't as good). It's also just started a run in my college paper, so if you're coming from the Woosta Source - welcome! Really hope you're enjoying the story so far :)
Anyway, I hope you're all doing wonderfully! Please do give me a buzz on the Facebook Page if you fancy saying hi, or have burning questions that I may or may not choose to answer about what's coming next.
See you next Wednesday!

Hello, all!
Wander over to the Stories page, and you'll find the third chapter of Lonely Worlds for your perusal.
I've also made a couple of minor edits to the first two parts. Nothing's changed plot-wise, I've just refined a couple of elements to make it a little better.
I'd be delighted to hear what you think of the story so far on my official Facebook Page, and do go ahead and hit me with anything you'ld like to know about any of the stories, released or upcoming.
See you next Wednesday!

Hi!
As you can probably guess from the title, and since it's Wednesday (all updates will be on Wednesday, people), I've uploaded the second part of Felix's story, Lonely Worlds. Enjoy!
In other news, work continues on my as-yet-untitled new novel. More details to come, but I can tell you it'll fit roughly into the Fantasy genre, though it contains very little in the way of magic, elves, dragons etc. It's a story about people, with no powers beyond their wits, and deals with the question of whether it is ever right to take a life. Some food for thought, there.
Let me know what you think of Felix's latest adventure on the official Facebook Page, and feel free to post any thoughts/questions about the upcoming novel.
See you next Wednesday!

Hello and welcome to my nice new site!
Thanks to my wonderfully tech-savvy brother James, I now have this classy-looking webpage where you can find all my stuff - it even works on mobiles and everything. Isn't that cool? I think it's cool.
You can find links to Facebook, Wattpad, Scribd and Tumblr on the "Contact" page. All the sites, including this one, will update with the latest content every Wednesday, so do go ahead and follow me on those to make sure you don't miss a story. I'm currently running a serial, Lonely Worlds, over the next few weeks. I originally wrote it on a World Challenge expedition on the slopes of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, where I read it to the team around the campfire every night. I hope it's as enjoyable for you to read now as it was for me then!
See you on Wednesday,
Joseph Russell

Hello anyone out there!
I'm making a big media push, and trying to do things properly this time. I'm now available on Facebook, Wattpad, Scribd and Tumblr, and I'll be posting new content every Wednesday of every week! That's exciting, right?
Also, I have a new book on the way! It's a standalone fantasy-esque novel aimed at New Adults (that's a thing, apparently - basically it's aimed at 16 and up, with some fairly adult themes). It doesn't have a name yet, but you can have a look at Ross Martin's gorgeous cover art on the Books Page! More on that soon.
So yeah, that's all good stuff!
Back soon,
Joseph Russell
